What actually helped your mental health that you didn't expect?
Asking for help feels like failing a test nobody else can see. I don't even have a clean name for it. I just know it keeps running the day. If this is just a bad month, I'll take that. It doesn't feel like a month. I figured if anyone would get it, it would be people here. If you crawled out of a similar hole, I want the unglamorous version of how.

Routine. Boring, consistent routine. I resisted it forever. It's the foundation.

Getting a dog. Sounds cliché but it gave me a reason to get up every morning.

Stopping alcohol. I thought it helped. It was making everything worse.
