How do I stop overthinking every conversation?
I will send a normal text and then spend the next three hours decoding it. Did I sound cold. Was that emoji too much. Why did they take twenty minutes to reply. In person is worse — I replay facial expressions on the drive home. I know people are not thinking about me as much as I am thinking about them. Knowing that does not stop the loop. How do you get out of your head after talking to someone?

@paula_j the period thing. I add lol to everything now. it is a problem.

I ask myself what I would tell a friend. would I say wow you were so awkward? no. I would say you are fine.

I started writing the thought down. once it is on paper it stops looping so hard.

@mia_k I do a voice note to myself. hearing it out loud makes it sound less huge.

honestly sometimes I just have to say maybe I was awkward. and that is okay. people forget in five minutes.

that helps me too. but only if I remember to do it. anxiety brain is loud.
