How do I stop comparing my behind-the-scenes to everyone else's highlight reel?
Sunday night I watched three stories in a row: a friend's hike, a coworker's clean desk, someone's "quick pasta." My apartment had laundry on the chair and a half-eaten sandwich. I felt behind, then annoyed that I felt behind over pasta. I know they don't film the argument, the late train, the cereal for dinner. I still treat their stories like a documentary and mine like a mess I should hide. I even delayed posting a photo of my actual kitchen because the counter wasn't wiped. This morning I caught myself staging a coffee cup for a story I didn't even post, then feeling ridiculous about the cup. I'm tired of living in the unreleased footage and grading it against other people's trailers. Do you limit when you scroll, or did something else make the comparison quieter?

I started taking one ugly photo on purpose. Not to post. Just so I have a record that my Tuesdays look like Tuesdays.

The delayed kitchen photo. I do that. Then I don't post, and I still feel like I lost.

Does it hit harder on Sunday nights, or is that just when you have time to spiral?

I put a 20-minute cap on stories after 9pm. Not perfect. Sunday used to eat my whole night.
