How do you explain your mental illness to someone who doesn't believe in it?
Asking for help feels like failing a test nobody else can see. I don't even have a clean name for it. I just know it keeps running the day. I've outgrown the advice that used to work, and I don't have a replacement yet. I figured if anyone would get it, it would be people here. I don't need a perfect answer. Even a small thing that made the next day easier would help.

I stopped trying to convince people who don't want to understand. I focus on the people who do.

This is exactly it. Thank you for putting it into words.

Sometimes I use physical analogies: 'Would you tell someone with a broken leg to just walk it off?'
