Why does buying groceries feel possible but putting them away feel impossible?
I made it to the store. I even used a list. Bags are on the counter right now, one of them leaking a little from the chicken, and I have been sitting on the stool looking at them for twenty minutes. The hard part was supposed to be leaving the house. I left the house. Now the fridge feels like a second job. I keep thinking I will put the cold stuff away after this video, after I drink water, after I feel less heavy. The ice cream is going to be soup. I know that. I still have not stood up. It is not laziness in the way people mean it. It is like the last 10% of the task weighs more than the whole trip. Anyone else stall at the putting-away part like it is a wall?

Cold stuff first, then I am allowed to sit. I say it out loud like I am five. The rest can wait on the table.

I buy less now so the pile is smaller when I get home. Two bags I might finish. Five bags I abandon.

Is it worse when you shop after work, or also on a Saturday with nowhere to be?

I leave the bags by the fridge door so I trip on them. Mean trick. I put the chicken away just to stop tripping.
