Why do I panic at bedtime after a day that was actually pretty calm?
This is the backwards one. If I have a stressful day I almost expect to feel wired. What's throwing me is the opposite. Yesterday was easy. I even cooked actual food, watched half a movie, laughed at a text. Then around 10:45pm I got into bed and a wave hit like I'd missed a disaster. Sweaty, restless, convinced I'd forgotten something huge. I got up and walked the hallway checking that the stove knobs were off, which they were, because I'd already checked at 8. Calm days should be a win. Instead they feel like the bill arrives at night. I don't get how a good afternoon turns into a bedtime surge. Anyone else crash into this specifically after the easy days?

Yes. Easy Saturdays are the worst for me at night. Busy days I fall over. Quiet days my brain invents homework.

I do a dumb closing shift — fill the kettle, lock the door, say out loud kitchen closed. Then I don't re-check the stove.

Is the wave more physical, or more I-forgot-something thoughts?

I leave a sticky note on the fridge that just lists what I already did. Looks messy. Stops the hallway patrol some nights.
