Why can't I take a full breath even though nothing feels physically stuck?
I can breathe. I know I can breathe. I still get this feeling that the last inch of the inhale won't arrive. It showed up last Sunday on my living room rug while I was folding a stack of towels, which is a deeply un-dramatic setting. I kept yawning to reset and then I'd feel air-hungry again. I stood by the window, counted, tried to breathe into my stomach, all the internet stuff. Sometimes it clicks and I get a satisfying breath and then I chase that feeling for the next hour. Talking is fine. Walking is fine. Sitting still is when it gets stingy. I don't want a lecture about how breathing works. I want to know if other people get this incomplete-breath thing that isn't quite shortness of breath.

Mine happens in the car at red lights. Same last-inch-missing thing. Driving otherwise fine.

I sigh once on purpose, then take a sip of water. Not a named technique. Just interrupts the yawn loop.

Does yawning actually give you the full breath for a second, or does it make the air-hunger worse after?
