What is the best thing to do when you feel anxious — how do I stop it quickly?
My alarm goes off and my body is already bracing, like the day started without me. I don't even have a clean name for it. I just know it keeps running the day. Therapy helped me name it. My body didn't get the memo as fast as my vocabulary did. I keep finding essays that sound right and still don't change Tuesday morning. Curious how other people live with this without turning it into their whole personality.

Gratitude and mindfulness apps completely reset my mind during heavy attacks.

Journaling: write how you're feeling, then go deeper. Writing integrates emotional and logical brain.

I watch nature videos of animals in their natural habitat with relaxing music. So much love in that.

Cold water on my wrists is an unglamorous trick that actually short-circuits the spiral for me.

The 3 a.m. version of my brain is a terrible narrator. Daytime me has to clean up after it.

I started naming it — 'that's anxiety, not a prophecy' — and it sounds cheesy until it works.
