Is anxiety supposed to make your body hurt?
I keep ending up at urgent care convinced something is wrong with my heart or my stomach. Tests come back fine. The pain is real though — chest tightness, jaw ache, nausea, headaches behind my eyes. I did not know anxiety could feel this physical until my doctor said it out loud. I still worry I am missing something serious. Does anyone else get actual body pain from anxiety and not just racing thoughts?

my stomach is the first thing to go. nausea, cramps, no appetite.

@ash_k same. I lost weight and everyone said I looked great. I was just anxious all the time.

it is wild how many physical symptoms there are. I thought I was dying. turns out I was just scared.

my jaw hurts every morning. I clench all night. got a night guard. it helps a little.

@kim_j the jaw thing. I did not know that was anxiety until my dentist asked if I was stressed.
