How do I know if my childhood was actually traumatic or if I'm being dramatic?
My body votes before I do. Freeze is the vote it casts most often. I don't even have a clean name for it. I just know it keeps running the day. I can be kind to other people in this and cruel to myself in the same hour. I figured if anyone would get it, it would be people here. What would you tell someone who is tired of trying and still not ready to give up?

The word 'dramatic' was probably used against you as a child. That's part of the trauma.

If it left a lasting impact on how you see yourself and the world, it was traumatic. Trauma isn't measured by how bad it looks to others.

That last line landed. I'm going to sit with it.
