How do I post a photo without refreshing the comments every two minutes?
I posted a picture from my sister's birthday last night. Nothing wild, just me and her at the table. I told myself I wouldn't look. I looked eleven times before I fell asleep. This morning I opened the app before I opened my email. Two likes from people I barely talk to and one comment from my aunt. I felt stupid for caring and then I refreshed again. If nobody from my actual friends list reacts, my brain writes a whole story: they saw it, they scrolled past, they think I was fishing. I almost deleted it at 7:40. I didn't, and now I feel like the photo is sitting there waiting to be judged. How do you post something and then actually leave it alone?

I mute my own post notifications now. If I want to check, I have to go looking, which is enough friction that I do it twice instead of twenty times.

Same story-writing. Silence means they hate it. A like from a coworker means they think I'm trying too hard. There is no winning version.

Did you tell your sister you posted it? Sometimes I can leave it if one person I trust already saw it.
