Can people with narcissistic personality disorder actually change?
People talk about personality like it's a costume. For me it feels more like weather. I don't even have a clean name for it. I just know it keeps running the day. Stigma made me delay getting language for years. I'm done delaying. I figured if anyone would get it, it would be people here. If you've been here, what actually helped — not what sounded wise, what helped.

Yes, but they have to want to. And most don't, because the disorder protects them from seeing the need.

Change requires sustained ego threat and a safe enough environment to face it. Rare but real.

A label helped me get language. It didn't give me a personality transplant, and I needed both truths.
