How do you actually leave work at work when Slack lives on your phone?
I walked in the door at 6:18. Shoes off. Then I stood in the kitchen answering a thread about a meeting that is not until Thursday. My pasta water boiled over. I had told myself this week I would delete Slack from my phone. I moved the icon into a folder named later. That is not deleting. At 9:40 I checked it again in bed because the badge said 1 and the 1 was a gif. I want evenings that belong to the room I am in. My thumb has a different plan. What actually worked for you that was not a big speech about boundaries, just a small ugly rule?

I log out of Slack on my phone at 6:30. Logging in again is annoying enough that a gif is not worth it.

I leave the phone in the hallway charger. If I have to walk, I usually do not. Pasta has been safer.

Does the badge get you more than the notifications, or is it the fear of looking away?

I put a sticky on the fridge that says Thursday. If it is not Thursday, I do not open the thread. Looks silly. Works some nights.
