Why does waking up feel like the worst part of the day?
I can do the tasks. I just can't find a reason they belong to a life I care about. I don't even have a clean name for it. I just know it keeps running the day. Advice keeps sounding like it was written for someone with more fuel in the tank. I figured if anyone would get it, it would be people here. If you crawled out of a similar hole, I want the unglamorous version of how.

Cortisol is highest in the morning. For depressed people that spike hits different.

Did you figure that out on your own or with someone helping you?

I literally grieve the fact that I woke up. Then by afternoon I'm glad I did.

Yeah. The body gets there before the story does.
