I think I'm depressed, but I still feel happy occasionally. What is wrong with me?
People keep saying I seem okay, which makes it harder to say I'm not. I don't even have a clean name for it. I just know it keeps running the day. I can get through a workday and then sit in the car for twenty minutes because going inside takes a second start. I keep finding essays that sound right and still don't change Tuesday morning. If you crawled out of a similar hole, I want the unglamorous version of how.

Depression is no longer stigmatized as it was. Please attempt a self-report of symptoms and see a physician. Being happy occasionally doesn't disqualify the diagnosis.

Showers count. Reheating leftovers counts. I had to redefine what a win looked like.

If you have a specific practice that helped, I'd love the unglamorous version.

I thought I had to feel motivated first. Turns out I had to move a little, then the feeling followed later.

The 'fine at work, empty at home' split is so lonely. I see you.

That last line landed. I'm going to sit with it.
