I'm functional depressed — people don't believe me because I seem fine.
Mornings feel like being asked to climb out of something with no handholds. I don't even have a clean name for it. I just know it keeps running the day. I can get through a workday and then sit in the car for twenty minutes because going inside takes a second start. I figured if anyone would get it, it would be people here. If you crawled out of a similar hole, I want the unglamorous version of how.

The mask is exhausting. You perform being okay and then collapse alone.

That last line landed. I'm going to sit with it.

This is why 'but you seem fine' is one of the most harmful things someone can say.
